Powwow: Shanghai - China

Is there any chance that we can have an informal pre-event drink the night before the 19th--I am selfish to ask this because I probably have to fly to HK on 19th and will miss this event, that would be so unfortunate! | | | Wenjer Leuschel (X) Tajwan Local time: 18:41 angielski > chiński + ... Well nigh possible. | Mar 29, 2007 |
Great idea. A pre-event meeting is well nigh possible. I will be arriving on the 18th and leave on the 20th of May. I believe, it is also important to have the topics defined before the meeting. A brainstorming on the setting of topics could be done over a drink. Well defined, focused topics are always helpful to a successful meeting. | | | Brainstorming | Apr 3, 2007 |
Totally agree with Wenjer to pre-select some topics for discussion. How about define some areas to start with: e.g. Techonolgy related (CAT tools, terminology management, etc.), Practical issues (Finance, Health, Social life, etc.)... I plan to be in Shanghai between 13th-18th of May, depends on my flight connection, I might have to leave early if we do manage to have a pre-drink. | |

Pre-event drink venue | Apr 27, 2007 |
As much as I would like to attend the 19th May Powwow, my flight connect simply does not allow me to stay one extra day in Shanghai. As suggested ealier, if those who had planned to attend the event, a night before 'pre-event' drink (May 18) might provide a good ground for the actual thing: introducing each other; brainstorming and selecting topics for the discussion, etc. I have found the venue: Citizen Cafe & Bar on Jinxian road (... I've been there, the atmosphere is good and the location is convenient. They have good selection of tea, coffee; as well as drinks and food. Their happy hour starts at 4pm, I will be there at around 5pm on Friday (18th May). I will try to book a table for us at upstairs (if weather is good, even on the terrace). I will put a sign: 'Proz Powwow Pre-drink Shanghai' on the table. I hope some of you will drop by before continuing your Friday nights' dinner party/ activities. Hopefully, at least, Wenjer will be there. I believe this pre-event drink should not last more than 2 hrs. Any suggestion will be appreciated! ▲ Collapse | | | Wenjer Leuschel (X) Tajwan Local time: 18:41 angielski > chiński + ... I will be there. | Apr 28, 2007 |
Hi Hanyi, I will be there on May 18, for sure. Then I will leave for Beijing for another private meeting on May 20. It wouldn't hurt the business to get to know more competent translators personally. See your there. Take care! - Wenjer | | | Pre-event drink | Apr 28, 2007 |
