Source text - English Rain Ride
Every year the raindrops went for a ride
In a cloud they sat side by side
Over the mountains, hills and plains
They all waited to fall down as rain.
There was a mother and child
On that beautiful cloud ride
"Hold on to my hand" said the little drop's mother,
Because when we fall, we should be together.
The drop looked at all the pretty sights below
At buildings and cars and flowers that were bright yellow.
He saw birds high in the trees
He also saw a hive full of bees.
The drops in the other cloud started to fall
On plants that were short and buildings that were tall.
Little children had bright coloured raincoats on
and in the distance the little drop could even see some swans.
Frogs that were green
Animals called snails he had never seen,
The ground below had a wonderful smell,
Since he was getting close, he could tell.
There was lightening and loud thunder,
and the little drops all looked in wonder
"Sit close to me now" said their mothers
As the news passed from one to the other.
"We're going to land", said the big drop there
Sit in twos and form pairs.
