'My Lord?' said Snape.
Voldemort raised the Elder Wand, holding it as delicately and precisely as a conductor's baton.
'Why doesn't it work for me, Severus?'
In the silence, Harry imagined he could hear the snake hissing slightly as it coiled and uncoiled, or was it Voldemort's sibilant sight lingering in the air?
'My - my Lord?' said Snape blankly. 'I do not understand. You - you have performed extraordinary magic with that wand.'
'No,' said Voldemort. 'I have performed my usual magic. I am extraordinary, but this wand ... no. It has not revealed the wonders it has promised. I feel no difference between this wand and the one I procured from Ollivander all those years ago.' | Translation - Czech
"Mám problém, Severusi," řekl měkce Voldemort.
"Můj Pane?" otázal se Snape.
Voldemort zvedl Bezovou Hůlku, držíc ji tak jemně a precizně jako dirigent.
"Proč mě neposlouchá, Severusi?"
V tichu se Harrymu zdálo, že slyší jemné syčení hada, který se stáčel a zas rozvinoval, nebo to byl Voldemortův syčivý povzdech, který se pomalu vznášel vzduchem?
"Můj - můj pane?" řekl Snape bezvýrazně.
"Nerozumím Vám. Vy - předvedl jste s tou hůlkou výjimečná kouzla."
"Ne," řekl Voldemort. "Předvedl jsem s ní svou obvyklou magii. Já jsem výjimečný, ale tato hůlka... ne. Neodhalila ony slibované zázraky. Nepociťuji žádný rozdíl mezi ní a tou, kterou jsem si opatřil od Ollivandra před všemi těmi roky." |
