Lai gan darba meklētāju skaits Latgalē būtiski saruka, tajā joprojām bija augstākais bezdarba līmenis (X gada beigās tas sastādīja 16,3% no ekonomisko aktīvo iedzīvotāju skaita). Reģistrētā bezdarba līmeņa sarukumu veicināja arī strauji augošais reģistrēto vakanču skaits (par 72,3% vairāk nekā X gada ceturksnī). Samazinoties bezdarbnieku skaitam un palielinoties reģistrēto vakanču skaitam, darba tirgus noslodzes koeficients 4. ceturksnī saruka līdz 8,4 (iepriekšējā ceturksnī: 9,1; X gada 4. ceturksnī: 16,7).

The registered unemployment rate continued to decrease during the fourth quarter in comparison with both the previous quarter (by 0.3 percentage points) and the according to the same period of the previous year (by 1.0 percentage points); by the end of the year, it was 7.4% of the economically active population. The drop in the unemployment rate was determined by the fall in the domestic economic activity, as a part of the unemployed moved abroad in search of work when job opportunities in other EU member states arose.
During the fourth quarter, the unemployment rate decreased throughout Latvia. Although the number of job seekers in Latgale declined substantially, it still retained the highest unemployment rate (it constituted 16.3% of the economically active population at the end of year X). The drop in the unemployment rate in Latgale was determined by the fact that the economically active inhabitants sought work abroad or had become economically inactive.
The lowest unemployment rate was recorded in Riga (4.1% of the economically active population).
The decrease in the registered unemployment rate was also encouraged by the rapidly growing number of the registered job vacancies (72.3% more compared to the 4th quarter of year X).
Due to a reduction in the number of the unemployed and an increase in the number of registered job vacancies, the ratio of unemployed persons per job opening decreased to 8.4 (as opposed to 9.1 in the previous quarter and 16.7 in the 4th quarter of year X).

In 2010, a British MP (Member of Parliament) was paid a basic salary of just over £63,000, but many MPs claimed twice that amount a year on expenses, which included staff pay, stationery and travel costs. MPs, who did not live in London were also entitled to an allowance of up to £24,000 a year towards the cost of a second home. This may seem like a good living but it's still a pittance compared with people working in the financial sector, many of whom receive a massive annual bonus on top of their salaries. Senior city bankers, for example, can boost their earnings by £1m just from their annual bonus, and even more junior members of staff can make a lot of money.

2010. gadā kāds Britu Parlamenta deputāts saņēma pamatalgu, kura nedaudz pārsniedza 63000 Lielbritānijas sterliņu mārciņu, bet daudziem Parlamenta deputātiem izmaksāts divtik, pamatojoties uz izmaksām, kurās iekļauts personāla atalgojums, kancelejas preču un ceļa izdevumi.
Parlamenta deputātiem, kuri nedzīvoja Londonā, pienācās ikgadējs pabalsts līdz 24000 sterliņu mārciņu apmērā otras dzīvesvietas izmaksu segšanai.
Tā var šķist kā lepna dzīve, taču tā vēl ir pieticīga, salīdzinot ar finanšu nozarē strādājošajiem cilvēkiem, no kuriem daudzi papildus ikmēneša algai saņem apjomīgas ikgadējas prēmijas.
Piemēram vecākie baņķieri Londonas Sitijā ar gada prēmiju vien var palielināt savus ienākumus par vienu miljonu Lielbritānijas mārciņu, un pat zemākstāvošie darbinieki var nopelnīt ievērojamas naudas summas.

Bio

My work experience so far has mostly been linked to tourism, marketing and cosmetics, with regular projects in translating and copywriting in English and Latvian. I am currently widening my horizons in a Master's study program in translation at the University of Latvia. I have listed my relevant experience below.

2016-2017: Worked as a guide in Riga Motor Museum, where I translated exhibit information, press releases and social media posts as well as carried out large group tours in ENG (up to 60 ppl.). That is when I started receiving side projects in translation.

2017: Later on, I pursued a career in marketing and tourism and underwent an internship at the Tourism Department of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia. My tasks included creating and editing articles for online travel magazines and translating PR texts. I also carried out a market research for launching Latvian tourism products in Japan (I lived in Japan from 2009 to 2010).

2018: Continued my work as a marketing assistant at Kinetics Latvia, a locally based cosmetics company, where I worked with translating and copywriting for new products of the industry, therefore I am familiar with various aspects of commercial cosmetics texts.

Currently:  I work with several agencies as a freelance translator and copywriter. I have experience with several CAT tools, including MemoQ, SDL Trados, Memsource and Smartcat. I  would also like to try others, such as Deja-Vu and Accross.

I carry out editing and proofreading projects, especially for cosmetics texts, as I am very familiar with the lingo of the industry.

In my work I strive to be consistent, reliable and open to communication, so that both parties get the best out of their cooperation.

Please, do not hesitate to contact me in case you have any questions.
