In its first weekly meeting of 2019 Commission discusses the main political challenges ahead
The College of Commissioners held today the first weekly meeting of 2019 which was devoted to discussing the challenges of this new year. Commissioners used the opportunity to take stock and discuss the year ahead, including the European elections in May and other important milestones ahead.
This year the EU agenda will be marked by three words: delivery, destiny and democracy.
Delivery is the Commission's and President Juncker's main focus right until the very last day in office. All the proposals based on the 10 Priorities of the Juncker Commission are now on the table but around 240 proposals still need to be adopted in the next 300 days. The College reaffirmed today that it will be working flat out to ensure as many as possible of these proposals are formally adopted by the co-legislators so we make a difference in people's lives.
Commissioners also underlined that this is the year when Europe must take its destiny into its own hands, as President Juncker called for in his last State of the Union speech. On 9 May in Sibiu, in Romania, the 27 leaders will usher in a new dawn with a very special summit that will pave the way for a stronger, more united and more democratic Europe.
Just two weeks after Sibiu, Europeans will take part in the second largest election anywhere in the world – second only to the Indian general election. Democracy and European elections will be a chance for people to have their say on the kind of Union they want and for all parties from across the spectrum to put forward their ideas for the future.
The College also used the opportunity to discuss the agenda of their upcoming visit to Bucharest – on Thursday and Friday – for the meeting with the Romanian Presidency.
Vice-President Jyrki Katainen presented the state of play of the Juncker Plan and the latest figures on the European Fund for Strategic Investments. As of December 2018, the European Fund for Strategic Investments - at the heart of the Juncker Plan - has already mobilised €371.2 billion of investment across Europe and supported 856,000 small and medium businesses across the EU.
Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos debriefed the College on the state of play of the migration files and in particular recent developments in the Central Mediterranean. The latest Sea Watch 3 and Sea Eye case showed once again that predictable and sustainable solutions for disembarkation and allocation are urgently needed.
Commissioner Avramopoulos stated that the Commission spared no efforts to coordinate relocation pledges among Member States and make the disembarkation possible. He particularly thanked the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat for allowing the disembarkation of the two NGO vessels and commended Member States that agreed to receive the migrants disembarked in Malta. "Having 49 people on boats at sea, for almost 3 weeks, is not what the European Union stands for. The European Union is about human values and solidarity. And if human values and solidarity are not upheld it is not Europe", said Commissioner Avramopoulos.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to stackable beverage cups and, in particular to a dual use stackable beverage cup that can be used both as a standard size cup and as a smaller shot size cup.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Glassware and plastic cups can take up considerable closet or shelf space and purchasing separate cups for different amounts of fluid use is both inconvenient and expensive. Plastic cups are often used for gatherings where it would be inconvenient to wash dishes afterward, due to factors such as location or number of guests and having plastic cups in mul¬tiple size cups is also both inconvenient and expensive. Space is often an issue for plastic cups, as well. Attempts to over¬come these problems have been attempted with dual usage beverage containers. For example, US D580228 S depicts an ornamental design for a reversible beverage cup. The exterior of the design is cone shaped and two beverage cups contained within the cone are diametrically opposed with a barrier between the bases of each cup, such that when one side of the cup is in use, the other side serves as a base. The design is bulky as the cups do not occupy all of the space within the cone shape.
Another example of a dual use cup is seen in U.S. D418015 which is an ornamental design for a double goblet. In this design, the two separate beverage containers are also dia¬metrically opposed and the opening of one serves as the base of the other. The containers are connected at the base of each goblet by a connecting stem.
Yet another example of a dial beverage container cup is seen in U.S. 2007/0267424 which comprises two cups, wherein the opening for each cup serves as the base for the other. In the ’424 application, one cup is smaller than the other and the opening for the smaller cup is the edge of the base for the larger cup.
While advancements in the beverage technology have been made, the prior art dual container cups are not without fault and, even when stacked, can take up considerable space.
Thus, there still exists a need to provide a dual container cup that is efficient to use and store, that can be made cheaply and that can be stacked easily and in as small a space as possible.

Стакан имеет коническую форму, и два диаметрально противоположных стакана внутри конуса, разделенные перегородкой в их основании так, что во время использования одного стакана, другая сторона служит подставкой. Конструкция является громоздкой, так как стаканы не занимают все место внутри конуса.
Еще один пример стакана двойного назначения можно найти в патенте США US D418015, который представляет собой декоративный промышленный образец двойного бокала. В данной конструкции две отдельных емкости для напитков также диаметрально противоположны, а край одной емкости служит подставкой для другой. Емкости соединены в основании каждого бокала с помощью ножки.
Еще один пример двойного стакана для напитков, который состоит из двух стаканов, где край одного служит подставкой для другого, можно увидеть в патенте США US 2007/0267424. В заявке ’424 один стакан меньше другого и край меньшего стакана является краем основания большего стакана.
Несмотря на успехи в технологиях, связанных с напитками, двойные емкости для напитков предыдущего поколения имеют недостатки и даже в сложенном виде могут занимать немало места.
Таким образом, все еще существует потребность в создании двойного стакана, удобного в использовании и хранении, дешевого в изготовлении и легко складывающегося, занимающего как можно меньше места.
