BP invests 12 billion dollars to develop gas fields in Egypt
6 March 2015
Friday, the energy giant BP announced a decision to invest 12 billion dollars to develop gas fields in Egypt.
The company described the decision as a “vote of confidence” in Egypt’s future.
The head of the company’s Board of Directors, Bob Dudley said after the signing of the agreement that “This investment in the West Delta Nile project is the largest direct foreign investment in Egypt.”
Dudley added ”The West Delta Nile project production is vital to the energy security of Egypt”, pointing out that all of the gas the project produces will be used towards Egypt’s energy needs.
In his view, the company’s North Africa Regional President, Hesham Mekawi, says that the new agreement represents “An important point in the history of oil and gas production in Egypt.”
BP says that the building stages of the project will see the employment of thousands of workers.
The goal of the project is to develop 5 trillion square feet of gas resources and 55 million barrels of concentrated material. There is hope for the project to begin production in 2017.
According to a statement issued by the company, “This project shows BP’s commitment to the Egyptian market and expresses its vote of confidence in the investment climate and economic capabilities of Egypt.”

Bio
I am a knowledgeable and educated professional. My focus is in translating from Arabic into English. I am a native English speaker.

My strengths stem from university education in the areas of science, mathematics and international politics. My education in Arabic includes university courses, private tutoring, overseas study (Egypt - 2005) and independent learning. I have studied the Arabic language for over a decade and have done some volunteer translating. Over the past four years, I have gained experiences in maintaining an online presence as I work as an ESL tutor. This has helped me gain time management skills while making appointments and working/communicating over the internet.

The goal of this profile is to network and to gain employment experiences. I am seeking to find work in mutually beneficial partnerships and to work as a team member in a capacity in which I contribute to quality finished works.

My bachelor's degree is not specifically in translating, but is an Individualized Studies degree in Dual-community Modeling. Arabic language courses were part of the curriculum.
