Die Frage nach dem Bösen und besonders nach seinem Ursprung gehört zu den bedrängendsten Fragen des menschlichen Denkens. Dies gilt gerade auch für die Theologie. Denn wenn Gott ist und wenn er wirklich gut ist, wie kann es dann das Böse überhaupt geben? Dies ist immer auch eine Frage an Gottes Allmacht. Deshalb ist auch die Frage nach dem Bösen, besonders in der Neuzeit, zu einem Problem der „Rechtfertigung“ Gottes angesichts des Bösen geworden. Es bleibt die Frage, ob dies eine ausreichende Problemstellung ist. Aber die Frage kommt immer wieder: Warum, woher, wozu das Böse? Warum gerade ich? Wie vertragen sich das Übel und das Böse mit Gerechtigkeit und gar Liebe? Und immer wieder heißt es: Wo bleibt Gott? Wir müssen noch früher ansetzen, wenn freilich noch einige Vorbemerkungen nötig sind.

Ein gewisses Zögern, der Frage nach dem Ursprung des Bösen nachzugehen, überkommt einen schon, wenn man sich dem Wortfeld ‚das Böse‘ zuwendet. Es fällt zunächst auf, dass nicht wenige Lexika, in denen man das Stichwort vermutet, darüber hinweggehen. Man findet dann ‚ Bosheit‘ und stößt vielleicht auch zum lateinischen ‚malum‘ vor. [...]

The problem of evil, particularly of the origin of evil, is one of the most difficult questions of human thought. This holds especially true for theology. For if God exists and if He is really all‐good, how can there be evil at all? This is closely related to the problem of God’s omnipotence. Therefore, the problem of evil, especially in modern times, has become the problem of God’s ‘justification’ in view of evil. It remains the question whether this describes the problem sufficiently. But the question keeps surfacing: Why, whence, wherefore evil? Why me? How does evil agree with justice and love? And always the question: Where is God? We need to go further back and start with some necessary introductory remarks.

One is already overcome by a certain feeling of hesitation to explore the problem of the origin of evil, when turning to the semantic field of ‘evil’. The word "server" is also used to refer to the operating system--software like Windows 2000 or its successor, Windows XP. These operating systems include all the features you'll need to connect your server to other computers, sometimes called "clients."
The traditional way to create your LAN is to string very inexpensive Category 5 cable (it looks a lot like the typical phone line on steroids) between the Ethernet adapters of two or more PCs. You may need to buy a small and inexpensive Ethernet card to plug in to one or more of your PCs if any of them is either old or cheap. But the easier approach is to make built-in Ethernet a must-have on your PC shopping list. (As a matter of fact, Ethernet has become such a common feature of today's business-class PCs that it may not even cost you extra for the ability to transfer data at 10 or 100 megabits per second.)
Easier still is to network your PCs wirelessly using 802.11 or Wi-Fi network adapters. These come in a variety of adapter types and connect to your PC in different ways. Similarly, unable to accept an Ethernet card, some small devices like PDAs and cell phones rely on the wireless Bluetooth or Infrared communication methodologies.

Vorwissen so vieler Impertinenzen angemaast, dass mir endlich der GeduldsFaden gerissen ist;
ich habe mit diesen impertinenten Speculanten gebrochen, die AGE bis 1799 aufgegeben,
und werde Sie bey einem andern Verleger, vielleicht unter einem andern Nahmen herausgeben.

Anschafung der Instrumente, Sie haben doch zwey Chronometer gekauft, das that
ja selbst der König von Preussen nicht, zu seiner Vermessung. Bedeutender ist, dass Sie
keine gute Sextanten und Mess Instrumente haben, diesem abzuhelfen bin ich bereit, wenn
es Hr Reincke zufrieden ist. Mit dem lezten Transport aus London, sind drey Sextanten
von Dollond mit silberne Limbus, und starken Vergrösserungen angekommen, sie sind
gerade von der Art, wie Sie schon bey mir gesehen haben, und davon Yelin in Ansbach
einen bekommen hat, ist Ihnen und R. dieses Instrument anständig, so will ich den
Sextanten der für Major Vega bestimmt war, Ihnen überlassen, schreiben Sie mir, nur

Dulong und Petit haben aus ihren Beobachtungen über die Abkühlung eines grossen Quecksilberthermometers, dessen Kugel bei einigen Versuchen nackt, bei anderen versilbert war, das Resultat gezogen, dass die von einem Körper ausgestrahlte Wärmemenge in einer geometrischen Progression wächst, wenn seine Temperatur gleichförmig zunimmt. Die in der Zeiteinheit von einem Körper ausgestrahlte Wämemenge u kann durch die Formel mau, m bedeutet eine von der Grösse und Beschaffenheit der Oberfläche des Körpers abhängige Constante, a die für alle Körper gleiche Zahl 1,0077.
Dieses Gesetz ist von Dulong und Petit für zwischen 0° und 280° liegende Temperaturen in Übereinstimmung mit ihren Beobachtungen gefunden worden. Es wurde jedoch auch über diese Grenzen hinaus als gültig angenommen und zuerst von Pouillet zur Bestimmung der Temperatur der Sinne benutzt.
Die auffallend kleine Zahl, welche Pouillet für diese Grösse fand, hat die Veranlassung gegeben, die Anwendbarkeit des von Dulong und Petit aufgestellten Gesetzes für höhere Temperaturen zu bestreiten und ist seine Unbrauchbarkeit für solche auch von Ericsson uns Soret durch mehrere Versuche nachgewiesen worden. Dulong and Petit concluded from their observations of the cooling of a large mercury thermometer, whose bulb was bare in some experiments and silvered in others, that the quantity of heat radiated by a body increases in a geometric progression if its temperature increases steadily. The quantity of heat radiated per unit time by a body at a temperature u can be described by mau, m being a constant depending on the size and nature of the surface of the body, a the number 1.0077 which is the same for all bodies. Dulong and Petit found this law for temperatures between 0° and 280° in accordance with their observations. But it was assumed to be true as well beyond these limits and was used by Pouillet to determine the temperature f the sun. The remarkably small number that Pouillet found was the reason to dispute the application of the Dulong-Petit law to higher temperatures; these application limits were proven by Ericsson and Soret in several experiments. ich es in den beinahe achtzehn Jahren
