مكثت بأمدرمان نحو خمسة عشر يوما لمقابلة المهنئين والراحة من عناء السفر, ثم قمت لرفاعة للاطمئنان على باقي اسرتي هناك والسلام عليهم. وعدت لامدرمان في الثاني من اغسطس: ولكني سافرت منها في اليوم التالي الى الدويم لحضور زواج اخي الخدر بدري من زينب بنت ميرغني. وصلت الدويم مساء يوم 4 اغسطس واتممنا العقد الشرعي يوم 7-8-1929 وبعد ذلك قمت عائدا لامدرمان ومن ثم لرفاعة يوم 11-8. انتهى 		Translation - English
A Period of Rest, with Public Service:
I stayed in Omdurman about fifteen days, in order to meet wellwishers and rest from enervation of travel, then I left for Rufa'a seeking to be reassured about the wellbeing of the rest of my family over there, and I returned to Omdurman on the second of August; but I left the next day to El Doaim to be present on the wedding ceremony of my brother Al Khidir Badri to Zeinab Bint Merghani. I reached El Doaim on the evening of the 4th of August, and we completed the official wedding contract on the day of 7/8/1929, and afterwards I returned to Omdurman, and from there to Rufa'a on 11/8.
