I keep messing with my profile and my CV to try and implement other people's general advise, yet I have the nagging feeling that I'm missing something crucial. I'd appreciate any input. | | | Two suggestions | Aug 5, 2011 |

Many companies/agencies just want to have a trustworthy resource and they basically do not care about whether you consider yourself available or not. Additionally, you are forced to keep updating your availability instead of taking care of other more useful duties. Rates is something else I think could be counterproductive. Sometimes they discourage customers who might be just a little under your rate level but who could be interested in your services if you had a chance to explain your abilities and qualification. Removing your rates will of course mean a lot of contacts from people who will never pay your rate, but the flow of contacts could mean more interesting prospects. ▲ Collapse | | |
