My academic training is in classical Japanese literature, and I've translated a number of medieval tales for scholarly publication. I also have training working with premodern poetry forms, handwritten documents, and illustrated manuscripts.

Most of my paid work is with modern literature, however, currently working on a series of young adult vampire novels for the publisher Vertical Inc. My literary interests tend towards science fiction, feminist literature, and the work of social outsiders.
