svep

Swedish to English Marketing Marketing
Hi,

Context:

Svep och låt dig inspireras till en härlig whiskeyafton med exklusiva whiskeykaraffer och tillbehör.

Any idea of what svep means?

Thank you

Have a snifter around... :-)

For me, using svep to mean something like browse would be quite unidiomatic. The only thing I can think of is drink quickly, but that only makes sense if the context is right.
JaneD May 26, 2021:
That's what I wondered (the svepa thing). I think I'd probably just ignore it and just translate the rest of the sentence!
Marta Riosalido (asker) May 26, 2021:
Could be. The text is about whiskey accessories, like glasses and decanters.
Tania McConaghy May 26, 2021:
word play? Is this an attempt at word play on either or both of the following?
svepa - drink quickly
svepas med - get swept along, caught up in the flow
Marta Riosalido (asker) May 26, 2021:
Unfortunately, there is no more context that could help. These semm to be random sentences in a marketing text. But browse is a good option.
JaneD May 26, 2021:
Context? Is this a contest announcement or a marketing email, for instance? What comes before this sentence? It's *probably* just a kind of "Read on..." thing, as Brent suggests, but that's not certain without more information.

browse

I think in this context it means browse or swipe through the offers.

Have a browse and let yourself be inspired, find gifts that suit most occasions, or something typical of Skärhamn and Bohuslän.

Thanks, Brent. That was fast.

agree Michael Ellis : It could be just "Swipe", as one flicks though pages in a website..
