From my experience with texts relating to Chilean mining, "casino" refers to a type of dining hall (canteen or cafeteria) for workers provided by employers at the workplace or site.

: To me a "canteen" suggests a larger area for eating main meals, which is not the impression I get from "choquera" (essentially a "snack bar" but in a mining facility, hence the notion of "shack", no?)

A couple of options that might be worth considering:
Surface installations consist of a generator, mess hut, and haulage engine house, stores, coal screen and loading bay, and several old caravans.

Perhaps because of the lack of a mineral body on the claim, the Tiptoe had most of the Ringling claims' surface structures, some of which might have dated to 1918. Buildings on the claim included: a 16x24x8 foot log mess cabin with a rubberoid roof and a finished floor

: Couldn't find any specific term I was convinced by, and was gonna suggest leaving it in ES followed by "(snack shack)", but I looked into "mess hut" some more and now find it a viable option for this specific Chilean mining context.

Many thanks, James. Yes, I usually save "canteen" for the larger dining area, well away from the pit face. They call it a "casino" in Chile.
