V.F. --resultadio "ms"

español al inglés Medicina Medicina (general) Lab results
This is a solitary line in a series of lab reports and is placed between Microbiology results and Biochemistry. I don't recognize VF outside of Cardiology!!
Here is the complete line: "Prueba V.F. Resultado ms Unidades (not given) Rango (not given) but there is a note after Observaciones which says: Validado por Dr. M...... ....."
This sounds fairly important and I would be glad if anyone could shed any light on the test in question and which lab it is done in. What is "V.F." and what is "ms"? Many thanks in advance.

Respiratory patient Thanks to both for your input. No, Joe, I didn't know about that site and thanks for the mention. Liz, This patient has no cardiac probs and is not in ventricular fibrillation. He has a mesothelioma but is haemodynamically stable. His resting ECG WAS done but was normal. I agree, ms looks like milliseconds. The test is included along with a list of BLOOD tests, not pulmonary function tests, and I can't say I have ever heard of any routine lab doing a blood test in milliseconds. 'Twould be a pretty good outfit if they did!

Prueba de velocidad de flujo?
liz askew Nov 18, 2013:
ms usually = milliseconds/minutes

This only makes me think of Ventricular Fibrillation, which is measured in milliseconds.

Yet there is no result, so have they actually performed the test?

Range of possibilities Hi Sean, Cosnautas gives the following possible meanings of VF (you know about this site?):

1 vaciamiento funcional
2 vacuna fraccionada
3 velocidad (o volumen) de flujo || ◊ FR (flow rate)
4 vena femoral || ◊ FV (femoral vein)
5 videofluoroscopia
6 videofrecuencia
7 volumen físico || ◊ PV (physical volume)
8 volumen de flujo || ◊ FV (flow volume)

Think any of these might fit your situation?

Vitreous Fluid test? That would fit your context, and as you know they mix Spanish and English abbreviations without telling you which ones they're using... :) It's so hard to suggest things for these terms when you can't see the whole document, so I always hesitate. Is it forensics?
Note from asker:
No, this is not in the realm of Forensic Medicine but a regular discharge summary of an inpatient with a mesothelioma. Thank you very much for your suggestion; I appreciate the time and trouble you took to research this item.
