N.B. North American scarf = British scoff.
I certainly would not use "scoff a vegetable" (and I am British and I would never say that I have heard of anyone scoffing vegetables, even vegetarians); I am not too sure why you would simply not say "eat a vegetable ..." and you chose to use "scoff"? As far as your question "culpas", why not guilt (we are always told vegetables are good for you!)?

Agree with Taña. 'Scoff' implies vigorous action. I would use it more sparingly.
BTW, 'scoff' is strictly UK English. We say 'scarf' in the US. See:

Maybe? I just thought it weird about "scoffing vegetables". Perhaps, I am allowing my idiosyncrasies to show through, as I don't like vegetables too much! LOL

Jenny. Unrelated to question - what sources did you check regarding "papearse"? https://www.wordmagicsoft.com/dictionary/es-en/papearse.php (to eat). Otherwise, "vegetable that you scoff * that is why you scoff a vegetable" really makes no sense! The verb to scoff means: speak to someone or about something in a scornfully derisive or mocking way, and one does not "scoff at a vegetable". Just a thought! I think you need to revise the text.
