Discussion

Ruth Rubina (asker) Jun 21, 2017:
Muriel - Thank you for being so kind. Since this is a transcript without any special information, except the grades - I will try to get clarification from the client. I could not find information online because the link posted was not helpful.
Paul Bevan (X) Jun 21, 2017:
@bbt-ruth : CORRECTION - If the course is business administration, as opposed to social sciences, then I think my suggestion of CELA (Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos) is probably incorrect. It would seem more likely to be the company Celanese Mexicana, that either sponsored a course open to the public, or contracted this course with the university as a tailor-made further education specifically for its own employees. I was on a Finance course, run by a university and open only to employees of my firm, some years back. I see the company is quite active in sponsoring universities. But I agree, this is not an easy question.
Muriel Vasconcellos Jun 21, 2017:
@Marcelo - Sure! I'm all for demanding context and I've done so many times myself.

I was just sticking up for the Asker. I can relate to being scolded for posting what appeared to be an easy question. Careful examination *usually* reveals that it wasn't a simple question at all, or it wouldn't have been posted. At some point there was discussion of eliminating the option to vote "non-Pro" because it doesn't serve much purpose except to penalize the Answerer (he/she doesn't get leadership points for answering it).
Marcelo González Jun 20, 2017:
Thanks, Muriel. It would be helpful to see... what the 'plan of studies' entails, especially as such documents sometimes (if not always) contain descriptions of the program. If it's a program that has been phased out or modified to remove any reference to Celanese Mexicana, I wonder if it included some sort of internship at the company, which has since been removed (along with the company's name)...sort of like a "Peace Corps master's" in international development, but here in relation to an MBA.
Muriel Vasconcellos Jun 20, 2017:
@ Marcelo I'm talking about the people who scolded the Asker for not doing his/her homework first. It's not an easy question.
Marcelo González Jun 20, 2017:
@ Muriel - With so little context... ...and zero relevant hits of what the asker believes is the name of the program, is it really too much to ask (or insist) for more info? The link I posted and now removed was never confirmed as belonging to the right 'La Salle'. And a search there of 'Celanese' got zero hits, as well.
Muriel Vasconcellos Jun 20, 2017:
If the answer were so easy... why hasn't someone posted it? I think you're being hard on the Asker.
Ruth Rubina (asker) Jun 20, 2017:
Thank you.
Ruth Rubina (asker) Jun 20, 2017:
The school is in Mexico.
Ruth Rubina (asker) Jun 20, 2017:
The school is La Salle University and the degree is from 1994. All the subjects fit a description of a degree in Business Administration, but the word Celanese is what makes the confusion.
Ruth Rubina (asker) Jun 20, 2017:
philgoddard - I looked in Google, and since I saw that Celanese is the name of a company, I wasn't sure that a school can offer a degree with that name...
Paul Bevan (X) Jun 20, 2017:
I think it might derive from CELA, which Wikipedia shows as acronym for Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos. If your study plan is for a Social Sciences course at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, this might fit.

philgoddard Jun 20, 2017:
Please Google your terms before posting them. The rules of ProZ require you to do your own research first. If you'd done so, you'd know that Celanese Mexicana is the name of a company. I assume you know what maestría en administración means.
