Discussion

BristolTEc (asker) Jun 20, 2019:
I have considered "line point", but that does not seem to be relevant. You are quite right to say that there may not be an alternative name in English, of course, or there may be one or more. At this stage I don't know and any suggestions would be welcome.

You don't say whether you've considered "line points". Also, the fact that they have two names in Spanish may not be relevant to your translation.

Findings

The following reference and others I've seen refer to 'dashed lines'.

R1 has established two LSPs represented by the dashed lines to R4 for the two networks RAN4 and WLAN4 attached to the two interfaces of R4. The corresponding FTN contains two entries for these networks. The LSRs R2 and R3 as well as the downstream egress LER R4 have corresponding entries in their ILMs. R1 has a further LSP represented by the dashed-dotted lines to the downstream egress LER R6 for the network WLAN6 attached to R6. The entries in the FTN and in the ILMs of R7 and R6 are set accordingly.

The structure of the EMMNet after network initiation is shown in Figure 4. Each device has a communication range, which is illustrated by the dotted line. The communication range is not a perfect circle due to the complicated communication environment. The dashed lines indicate relationships among the collectors and the concentrator. The numbers in the circles indicate the value of DtA. The node whose DtA value equals zero denotes the data concentrator. A collector whose DtA value is larger than zero at least has a parent collector, and the DtA value of this collector is larger than that of its parent collector by one.
