Spanish term

% baja de oferta más barata

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) procurement
This is confusing me because baja de would be below, but this is in relation to the lowest price bid. Surely, it would be how much *higher* the bid is in relation to the lowest priced bid???
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks!

Proposed translations (English)
3 +1 percentage reduction of the lowest bid

Also correct: 'reduction percentage', or 'reduction (price) percentage', if you want to apply Carol's Gullidge's sentence in the shorter version.
Guillermo Masio Nov 16, 2020:
Percentage reduction of lowest bid That's what I meant in my proposed translation, I mixed the word order (sorry). Thi seems to be some kind of bid shading practice.
Carol Gullidge Nov 16, 2020:
so in their calculations, they're... looking not only at the lowest bid, but also at the amount it has been reduced by
Carol Gullidge Nov 16, 2020:
percentage of the (price) reduction... ...of the cheapest offer.? I.e.,

But I have no qualifications in this realm...

This is the way I see it anyway, and I have to say that when shopping in the Sales I'm never interested in reductions of 25% or less! Unlike these people, my instincts are to go for the item that was originally the most expensive, but with the most dramatic price slashes. 50% arouses my interest, but 80% is hard to resist :)

agree Carol Gullidge : have no idea what "bid shading" is, but agree with your main proposal
