What you are referring to would be in printed journalism rather called a "lead" - a short sentence after the title (and possible sub-title) designed to grab your attention and make you read the "body" of the article (in your example click to get to it). The SUN uses lots of "entrefilet" if I remember well (I do take a look at it from time to time): all these text-boxes plastered all over the main part of the article, containing related short bits . How would you call all these side-stories?

You're right, I did a little research and the text box doesn't automatically qualify as an "entrefilet", it can also be a fact box, depending on the content http://www.newsandmedia.hik.se/paper_online/text/writing.htm...

For example, in this article the first box should be an entrefilet and the second a fact box:

antrfile as used in publishing started life as an element of layout design for printed newspaper articles. Visually an "entrefilet" is a small box inserted in the body of the article (thus "entre..." in FR "in-between") containing a short stand-alone text that gives additional information aiding the understanding of the main article (for example, various background information NOT summaries of the main article).
It's also used as a way to break a long article in smaller easier-to-digest bits, by inserting often more than one of these text-boxes.

On web pages, it's presented as a stand-alone text box insert inside or next to the main text. But a "text-box" doesn't automatically qualify as an "entrefilet" - it must contain some additional info related to the main text. The way "sidebar" is used in online publishing seems to be the nearest best bet.

@Milica, pa dobro to je sad diskutabilno sta je filer a sta nije, meni vise deluju kao neke dodatne informacije koje su mozda kasnije dobili... Na blicu se u sustini moze i za neke cele vesti reci da su fileri koliko su nebitne :D

Might be two lines of thinking here - the little summaries that appear on newspapers which, when you click on them, take you through to the full article or else just new short items. / snippets is one option but it's probably too colloquial for this context.
