employee on business trip/sent out of town (travelling employee)
http://doa.alaska.gov/dop/docpool/pdf/sop/Ch08TravelasTimeWo...
An employee sent out of town for one day is not paid for the time spent traveling from home to the local plane or ferry terminal.

Out-of-town day trips
Generally, time spent traveling to and returning from the other city is work time.

delegate/representative
Explanation:
A person sent on a business trip is called delegate, representative or there are other words you can use, as well. Choose the best for your context.
Good luck!

Depends on the purpose of the trip. If the person is sent to a conference to represent the company, "delegate" is the word to use or "representative". If the company sends someone out of town to do business in its name, then I agree with Annamaria, "employee sent on a business trip" is the right phrase. As Andreea hasn`t mentioned what the purpose of the trip is and as I`ve previously said, there are other terms to use, depends on the context.

: Deoarece delegate are alt sens în management, aş evita termenul.

: In UK we do not call a business traveller, a "delegate". We can use the term according to context, but it is not necessarily so.

Discussion
Uite un exemplu din Canada;
A secondment is a temporary move of an employee to another department or agency in the core public administration (Schedule I and IV of the Financial Administration Act), and other organizations for which the Treasury Board is the Employer.
Secondments and assignments are both temporary lateral movements of an employee to perform the functions of a position that already exists or to take on a special project. However, while secondments are to another department (interdepartmental), assignments are within a department or agency (intradepartmental). In both cases, the employee maintains his/her substantive position in the home department/agency or organization, and is paid by the home department/agency or organization.

But anyhow, the usage of a word must be considered, and you need to be careful about when you use "delegate". Though I am speaking in terms of UK English, I am not sure what type of English you need.
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/business-...
http://www.codulmuncii.ro/titlul_2/capitolul_3/art_43_1.html
