Norwegian term

varetekstklausul

Norwegian to English Law/Patents Law (general)
In a paragraph concerning insurance cover held by the supplier: "Leverandøren skal dokumentere at han har såkalt varetekstklausul opphevet."

I get no hits with this term. I think it has to do with product descriptions, and that it may be some kind of proviso in an insurance contract.

Discussion

Thomas Deschington (X) Sep 26, 2007:
"Varetektsklausul" sounds a lot more logical. Plus I guess if anyone annuls a clause in a product description, it must be the manufacturer, not the supplier.

I think you're right, Bill. Those hits do seem to be relevant. So far I've been following the same line of thought as Thomas, i.e. some sort of clause concerning the product descriptions (the supplier is providing chemical substances, so this seemed logical). Will follow that lead. Thanks.

Shouldn't it be "varetektsklausul", Brigid (inverted "s" and "t"). Then you'll get a FEW hits. But I don't have a legal definition, sorry. :-)

But I have been told I have to select so I have to choose. Will notify any addition info if I find out more."
