disagree  MariusV: žodis "responsibility" reiškia "atsakomybė", TAČIAU "baudžiamoji atsakomybė", "finansinė atsakomybė" yra "liability". "Responsibility" gali būti civilinėje, administracinėje byloje, bet NE baudžiamojoje.

disagree  Paulius Markevicius: labai jau lietuviškai skamba, pažodinis vertimas... nors dėl liability tai Marius teisus - atsakomybė verčiama kaip liability, tačiau siūlomas žodžių junginys nėra angliškas

disagree  Paulius Markevicius: anglų kalboje tokios sąvokos nėra, tai puikus "Lithenglish" (a la "Spanglish) pavyzdys...
Negrybaukim, OK?

criminally prosecuted person

Explanation:
In any criminal law case, the prosecuting party is the Crown (the currently reigning monarch) while the criminally prosecuted person is called the "accused"

savokos "person brought under criminal liability" nėra visame internete, todėl netikiu, kad Marius rado tokį "Lithenglish" perlą neva anglų teismo sprendime.

disagree  Paulius Markevicius: Asmuo apkaltintas baudziamaja atsakomybe... Tikrai geresnis variantas. Daugybe tokiu perliuku tenka taisyti teismu sprendimu vertimuose.

Example sentence(s):
  • The media named the person being held criminally liable for the incident.

neutral  Valters Feists: Are you sure "traukti atsakomybėn" means just someone's opinion about the situation (belief of the eventual guilt), and not a specific legal step? "Traukiamas" = the person *is* accused/charged, not just able to be accused.
6 days
  -> My understanding is that a specific legal step (to charge, to indict) would be „apkaltinti; iškelti kaltinimus“. That takes some sort of hearing (posėdis). Whereas, to me, „traukti atsakomybėn“ does not imply any concrete steps so far, just intent.
