Japanese term

XXX社での出荷試験において、外観検査以外の項目に付いて不合格となったロットは、出荷 不可とする

Japanese to English Science Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Hello, I am working on a specifications document and am having trouble with this phrase, particularly the "出荷 不可とする". It appears to be a term, but I cannot find it in any of my specialized dictionaries.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this phrase?

Much thanks in advance!

RieM Apr 21, 2010:
the gist is: Lots that fail any inspection other than the visual inspection will not be shipped.

項目 = 検査項目 in here.

You can incorporate 出荷試験において somewhere.

Thank you for your rapid answer and extra advice! The document has already referred to "receiving inspection", so I am using "shipping inspection" as the natural counterpart, though dispatch inspection is a good idea too. Unfortunately, the client hasn't provided any reference documents so I cannot check with their established terminology...

In any case, thank you very much for all your help!

Can not be dispatched/shipped

I means, that particular lot can not be dispatched or shipped.

It can be put as:
In the dispatch test of XXX company, the lot which failed/fails on the points other than appearance inspection, can not be/will not be shipped/dispatched/delivered.

I said 'dispatch test' because when I used to work with a Japanese molding technology leader, we commonly used terms like 'dispatch test' ,'dispatch checklist', 'dispatch schedule' etc. You can also say shipment/delivery test and likewise.

Please read 'It means' in the very first sentence. My bad!

shall be impermissible to ship

Rather a round-about way to express this, I know, but this would be the literal translation. The entire sentence I would translate:
"Those Lots that have failed in items other than the Appearance Inspection at XXX Co.'s Shipping Inspection must not be shipped."
