Japanese to English Bus/Financial Investment / Securities
The full sentence is:

What is the proper terminology for this? "Planned sales"? "Planned marketing"?

Discussion

Hi Kathy, nice idea. I hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately, their English page is "producing" (under construction). Mine will probably set the standard, so I better be accurate. :)
KathyT Jun 7, 2007:
Hi Casey, does this company have any o/s branches with English websites? If so, and the co. also has a 企画営業部, they may have their own company-preferred lingo for this term... Just a thought *
casey (asker) Jun 7, 2007:
By the way, like most old Japanese companies, this one has ties to almost every industry imaginable, but the main services it provides are investment consulting and real estate planning.

value-added marketing

Just a guess.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, everyone. I still don't know which is the best choice here, but I think Mikiko's suggestion is safest. I'm going to go with "value-added marketing strategies." "

communication planning

As Kathy points out, there may be a company prefered term for this but in the following link, the term "communication planning" is used as the translation for "企画営業"

Hope this helps.

marketing ploy

Which is why high-level execs like Nesle endured several hours in a packed bar. In addition to finding new talent, the event is also a marketing ploy, meant to show that some of the stodgy ad agencies represented there are hip as the youngsters buying the cell phones and vodka they are marketing.

Note from asker:
Hi Nobuo, This is a great explanation, but to me, "ploy" has negative connotations, so I'm hesitant to go with it. When people are distrustful of information put out by a company they often say, "Ah, that's just another marketing ploy" or something along those lines.
