Discussion
If it were the latter, you'd be correct, but from my verification ゆったり does denote a notion of fullness, normal/expected flow/shape. So in that context, would take this as an indication of a "well defined, standard sine shaped" [basic wave form component= 波分]。(Sorry I did not crack 波分、in my first rough post.)
Now, what would be the point of this particular recommendation?
What the engineer sees on his oscilloscope when sampling some electromagnetic output is very often a composite of several waves forms made up of a basic one whose profile gets distorted/blurred by a number of its simultaneous harmonic waves, and/or perhaps interfering waves from a different source.
Since the basic wave determines the shape of these harmonic waves, it is that basic wave, if it can be delineated through mental interpolation or computed tomography, which must serve as the prime reference on which to base a bench mark for future estimate/comparisons. Don't agree?
The literary meaning of 'ゆったり' is more like 'calm / unhurried / relaxed' isn't it?
