Discussion

Giulia Gigliotti Oct 12, 2012:
Cruentare in Latin means to cause to bleed http://www.oldict.com/cruento, cruentare, cruentavi, cruenta... and this would make sense from this dentistry text which explains how tissues are made to bleed in order to carry out the treatment http://www.dentisti-italia.it/dentista_domande/endodonzia/37...
However, I have also come across another instance of the term being used to mean to 'expose' so I'm not really sure and I guess it depends on the context: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=hLyl4cZWqVMC&pg=PA69&lpg=...
