Italian term

dialogatore

Italian to English Social Sciences Mathematics & Statistics statistical report on digital gaming
what would this professional figure be called in this context? I gather it is someone (or something?) who carries out the surveys and then relays the results.

Any suggestions?
TIA!

Discussion

texjax DDS PhD Apr 15, 2016:
I wouldn't I wouldn't use the Italian term, since it's just a noun. Handheld survey device is more than enough IMHO.
philgoddard Apr 15, 2016:
That's what I'd do.
Lisa Jane (asker) Apr 15, 2016:
Well....it's not in my nature to post without research-I'm too curious for that;) I will be using the Italian name and (handheld survey device) in brackets following your picture-maybe someone can confirm that?
philgoddard Apr 15, 2016:
OK! I assumed you'd posted the question without doing any research, which a lot of people do.
Lisa Jane (asker) Apr 15, 2016:
thanks for the ref to be fair-in terms of your reference, I had not googled the term together with GfK as I hadn't read it as being a name of their own device
Lisa Jane (asker) Apr 15, 2016:
well of course I researched it myself before posting-I hardly ever post any questions and am usually answering them-the once I do it feels like I'm getting ticked off. The forum is also here for asking questions to confirm one's own ideas when they are not totally convinced and the main point of kudoz is to help our colleagues and build glossaries or am I misleaded?
philgoddard Apr 15, 2016:
Because the rules of KudoZ say that you're supposed to research terms yourself before posting them. The second Google hit gives the answer, though I don't know if it has a name in English.

Lisa Jane (asker) Apr 15, 2016:
@PHIL I did! All I got back was fundraiser! As I said in my question I guess it is a person OR thing-I am on a tight deadline and if you know the answer why are you not suggesting it?
philgoddard Apr 15, 2016:
Please Google terms before posting them. It's not a person.
Lisa Jane (asker) Apr 15, 2016:
Investigator??? I have found investigator can anyone confirm this?

It's a handheld surveying device.

"This release also adopts the Dialogatore: a brand new device that GfK Eurisko has recently introduced in the Italian market. It embeds in an all-in-one tool a touchscreen computer, a barcode scanner, a voice recorder (to collect open ended [answers]), two cameras, a soundmatching meter."

I'd say "dialogatore (handheld survey device)" the first time, and "device" the second.
