Indonesian term or phrase: ngotot
Bila kerja jadi kacau, boss ngotot.
sayed mohamed
English translation:If the work is shoddy, the boss is likely to become more demanding
Explanation:
ngotot usually means to insist, but in this case I feel you would need to be guided by the context. Also there could be a number of translations for "bila kerja jadi kacau". (Literally "if the work is in disorder".)

Thank you so much John. In this case, the person is grumbling, "kerja jadi kacau, boss ngotot..". Thank you also to the supportive responses from Maya, Prisca, Anthony, Louis (again for your explanation), and Arika.

agree  Louis SOETEDJA: 'ngotot' actually can be translated as 'persevere'... not easily to give up.... trying very hard to reach the objective no matter what, if it needs working 25 horus a day so be it.... something in that respect.

agree  Louis SOETEDJA: The Indonesian sentence is a bit strange... I would expect it to be 'kerja jadi kacau karena bos ngotot' ngotot means persevere/obstinate/persist... something like 'not easy to give up, by hook or by crook I must finish the work'
