This is from a market research presentation, one of a group of statements with which respondents must agree or disagree. (Others include: "Ist ein Getränk für junge Leute" and "Ist ein Getränk, das man auch gut mischen kann").

The heading of this group of statements is "Verteiler & Bier" and I have no idea what is meant by "Verteiler" here. I can only presume that it is a word along the lines of "appetiser", "nightcap" or "one for the road".

Any suggestions or explanations gratefully received.

Explanation:
I have never heard of "Verteiler" in this context.
From the descriptions ("das richtige Getränk nach einem schweren Essen" ...) I think it is something like "Schnaps/Verdauungsschnaps".
"Digestif" would be said in a fine hotel,
"Schnaps/Verdauungsschnaps" would be said in a "normal" place, and
colloquial sayings are "ein Kurzer", "ein Absacker"

neutral  NGK: Depends on what you drink first. In the US, a chaser would normally the beer you have with (i.e. after) your hard liquor.
