I belive this is a soccer game machine with rods, to which kickers are attached. You spin them to kick the ball towards the goal of your opponent.
What is this machine called in UK or USA English?

My Langenscheidt gives \"table football\" too. This is the UK usage - and I can\'t imagine that it\'s a widespread pastime in the USA.

OK, so it IS a widespread pastime in the US. Seriously, though, I have never heard of \"foosball\" and would have presumed that it was a misprint. To be one the safe side on both sides of the Atlantic, I would put \"table soccer\" - everyone would understand that.

Comment: "Thanks to all, including Kim and that horribly correct "foosball" (US mangling of Fußball) suggestion. I have decided to go with "table soccer", which makes it correct in a European context, even though Google give 57000 hits to "table football"."
