"Nanotechnologie handelt von funktionalen Systemen, die von Untereinheiten mit spezifischen, größenabhängigen Eigenschaften der einzelnen Untereinheiten oder eines Systems aus diesen Gebrauch machen."
Die Definition basiert auf dem Versuch, die in den Definitionen des vorherigen Abschnitts jeweils erwähnten „neuen Eigenschaften durch kleine Größe“ zu **erfassen**. Dafür wurden die Eigenschaften aufgeschrieben und Kriterien entwickelt, anhand derer eine neue Eigenschaft spezifiziert werden kann."
Would "erfassen" here be understand? or include/cover? They want the definition to cover both the size/scale of the technology and the fact that new properties/functions occur in this order of magnitude and as a result of the size.
