German term
Halsschienengriff

First aid
I only have the term in a list of potential measures to take, but the above is the description of the Samariter of how it is performed. Any ideas?

spinal head hold
Not very many occurrences on the web, but the description is identical:
Spinal head hold
This is an instant temporary 'splint' for the victim's neck when a spinal injury is suspected. Hold the victim's head with both your forearms with your thumbs 'locked' over their collar bones, keeping the head, neck and spine completely still and in line.

: but there is no actual 'splint' involved, is it? It is a 'Griff' what is normally described in English as maneuver. I can see the 'splint' is figurative here. It would be good to know why the 'maneuver' is dangerous? See discussion.

The forearm(s) act as a splint, as far as I understand the description (yet, this is only "book" or rather "web smartness", I have never used this myself)

jaw-thrust maneuver
The jaw-thrust maneuver is a first aid and medical procedure used to prevent the tongue from obstructing the upper airways. This maneuver and the head-tilt/chin-lift maneuver are two of the main tools of basic airway management, and they are often used in conjunction with other basic airway techniques including bag-valve-mask ventilation. The jaw-thrust maneuver is often used on patients with cervical neck problems or suspected cervical spine injury.[1]
The maneuver is used on a supine patient. It is performed by placing the index and middle fingers to physically push the posterior aspects of the lower jaw upwards while their thumbs push down on the chin to open the mouth. When the mandible is displaced forward, it pulls the tongue forward and prevents it from obstructing the entrance to the trachea

What to Do for a Suspected C-Spine Injury
If you’re trained in rescue breathing, use the jaw-thrust maneuver rather than the head-tilt chin-lift maneuver to keep the neck in a neutral position.

: Sorry, but jaw thrust maneuver is different and may be life threatening, rather than life saving, when the cervical spine is injured :-((

No worries, I have found it as the equivalent because there is no other description in English for 'Griff'. In addition, if you look at my references it is what is recommended when there is a suspected / mit Verdacht auf cervical spine injury.

cervical collar hold
Looks like cervical collar would be the permanent device used for this purpose. So adding the word "hold" to the end would denote a temporary manual solution.

cervical hold could also work, but not neck hold.
