All,
I am translating a pathology report on a 38 y.o. female in the 7th week of pregnancy with diagnosis pathological cervix cytology (PAP IIIg, HPV HR pos.).
The wording below describes microscopic findings in one of three tissue samples:
Polypöse Endozervikalschleimhaut. Zentral Abschnitte mit einem atypischen Plattenepithel mit Kernatypien bis in oberflächliche Schichten reichend, z.T. mit *** aufgehobener Schichtung***.
Thank you.
Peter

Loss of epithelial stratification or loss of polarization: Is due to an apparent inability to properly differentiate and mature from basal cells to prickle cells to flattened keratinocytes, thus affecting the regular stratification pattern.
Preinvasive cervical cancer (Ca in situ) is a pathology of the integumentary epithelium of the cervix, throughout the thickness of which there are histological signs of cancer, loss of stratification and polarity, there is no invasion of the underlying stroma.
