Wenn auch eine funktionell belastbare Hartgewebsrekonstruktion erforderlich ist, sollten diese Materialien nur mit untergemischter Bohrspäne oder Bone chips im Volumenverhältnis 1:1 zum Einsatz kommen. Eine Membranabdeckung ist hierbei sinnvoll, da eine subperiostale Abwanderung von Granulat und eine bindegewebige Einscheidung vermieden werden kann."

Back to dental implantology after my brief foray into stamp collecting. My question is one of those cases where the right translation is on the tip of my tongue, but just won't come out. I think the meaning is "decorative/ornamental function", but just want to be extra sure - plus I have a nagging feeling there may be an even better phrase, but can't remember what it is. TIA for your help.
