The question deals with the design of the study:
Die Power von 80% lässt es immerhin zu, dass ein Unterschied im relativen Risiko 2 mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 20% "unentdeckt" bleibt. Dies gilt insbesondere auch dann, wenn die Studie abgebrochen wird, wenn die inneren gruppensequentiellen Stoppgrenzen überschritten werden. Entsprechend findet der biometrische Gutachter die folgende Aussage auf S. 42 des Studienprotokolls als irreführend: "If the test statistic is between the inner-wedge boundaries, then an alternative hypothesis of RR equal to 2.0 can be safely claimed untrue, and the study management may consider stopping the study for futility".
I would add that I suspect the German text is a translation from English already.
