Unfortunately not a lot of context. Seems to be a process step in plastics extrusion in the automotive supplier industry.

"Erstmals begann im Frühjahr 2011 das Team bei XXX mit Versuchen. Anfangs experimentierten wir mit reinen Konturteilen ohne Entkernung. Doch erste Erfolge stellten sich schnell ein und wir wagten uns auch an die Entkernung. Dafür haben wir uns Unterstützung von den YYY geholt, wo die Produkte nachbearbeitet werden. Die Entkernung ist technisch seit Juli 2012 entwickelt und wird mittlerweile in 55 Varianten in Serie produziert."
