This sentence is from an instruction booklet given to glass suppliers for a shower enclosure manufacturing company.

Is the Abladekante the edge of the panel that is on the outside when being stored, maybe to allow easy scanning of the label, or is it something much more specific?

Hi Hazmatgerman, handling edge as where the product should be handled on, lifted from is also possible. There are a lot of possibilities, the question is which one makes sense when translated into English. Attach the label to: the side that is visible etc

Another possibility might be "handling edge", as that is where one would be most likely to spot this label.

If the instructions are given to the supplier I would tend towards "unloading" as an option against "storing", makes it easier for the manufacturer when the deliveries arrive and have to be stored away.

I am not sure if there is a word for word translation available, if the question relates to where the labels/ bar codes etc should be then it should maybe read " displayed, as standard, on the loading side of the glass panel/unit ". Unloading ,as previously mentioned, applies to the recipient but edge ( ref: Johannes) might not work here.
