Die für die Feststellung, welche Bedeutung eine Aufnahme von Gegenstanden in das Nachlassinventar hat, massgeblichen Normen waren zum Zeitpunkt der hier relevanten Ereignisse die §§ 97 und 104 Abhandlungspatent (synonym auch Ausserstreitgesetz [1854]).

Is there another translation for Abhandlungspatent in this respect, or should I split the word and translate the two parts as "disquisition patent"?

Thank you Tom. I am still unsure of the whole thing as I have never heard of "Probate Procedure Charter" and it doesn't "say" anything to me. I am grateful nonetheless for your contribution. The whle thing with Austrian German (and rather old fashioned, too!) has got me somewhat "durcheinander". I used "disqisitions patent" in the end as I had a better "feel" for the word. My legal contacts in Vienna didn't come back to me.
