German term or phrase: engagementerhöhende Derivate
In a text from a Swiss investment consultancy describing the commitment approach:

"Es ist nur der Einsatz von Derivat-Grundformen zulässig. Bei engagementerhöhenden Derivaten muss das Basiswertäquivalent durch geldnahe Mittel gedeckt sein. Wenn das engagementreduzierende Derivat auf ein Index lautet, müssen die als Deckung dienenden Anlagen repräsentativ sein."

exposure-increasing derivatives
Explanation:
"Engagement" appears to be used in the sense of "exposure" here. For example, selling an uncovered call option would increase exposure.

commitment enhancing derivatives

Explanation:
My instinctive reaction would be to turn the whole sentence around so that it starts with something like:

"For a derivative to enhance commitment, it must ..."

Can't emphasise enough that this is little more than a guess.

agree  RobinB: Both the German term and your English translation appear to be predominantly Swiss terms (though Engagement is also used in standard German risk terminology to mean "exposure"), and are used by e.g. UBS.
