From a 1940 letter, written in Budapest, Hungary:

"Wir haben naemlich das nach Lemberg gesandte Paket vor einiger Zeit durch die Post mit einer Benachrichtigung zurückerhalten, welche wir unserem Schreiben zu Euerer Darnachrichtung beifügen."

The sentence is quite clear (with the exception of the word "Darnachrichtung," which I can't seem to find anywhere).
