This is from a very simple definition of the UK money market.

Markt für kurzfristige Guthaben und Ausleihungen, nach der Laufzeit unterscheidet man unter anderem Tagesgeld, ***tägliches Geld***, Monatsgeld, Dreimonatsgeld.

I am assuming Tagesgeld is overnight money. Zahn has tägliches Geld as 'day-to-day' money but I can't find any reference to this in the context of money markets. Could it just be demand deposits???

i) tägliches Geld = call money (aka. 'day-to-day-money' or 'demand money'
ii) Tagesgeld = overnight money (aka. 'overnight funds')

I would interpret the phrase as money on demand, payeable without penalties, thirty day credit/interest , quartely credit /interest, immediate payouts etc. Overnight money sounds, even in UK English, rather strange.

Spud, I have translated Tagesgeld as overnight money (UK English) ofter before (and it also has entries on this sight). It is lent for 24 hours fixed. Are you saying that 'tägliches Geld' should be translated as call money (ie it is on demand)??

Christine, where did you hear the phrase overnight money? day to day expenses, day to day costs, day to day billings ( AmE) etc, it is the same as Callgeld, day to day money, federal funds.
