agree  John Jory: From a GE wind turbine yaw drive manual I translated a couple of years ago: "Der Wind trifft zum einen nicht optimal auf den Rotor und der ideale Anströmwinkel an die Blätter ist nicht mehr gegeben." The yaw drive ensures an optimum angle of incidence.
