Die Isolation der Hochgebirge führte neben der Bildung zahlreicher Endemiten auch zur stärkeren Differenzierung der Artenareale. Die ***Artengarnitur*** des Kaukasus zeigt zwar einige Beziehungen zu den Alpen (Trisetum spicatum, Gnaphalium supinum, Saxifraga moschata u. a.), aber kaum zu den polaren Regionen auf, dafür jedoch zu den asiatischen Hochgebirgen.

I am not sure of the exact term in English for Artengarnitur.

The range of species found in the Caucasus is somewhat related with that of the Alps (Trisetum spicatum, Gnaphalium supinum, Saxifraga moschata e.g.) as with that of the Asian high mountain ranges, but very little with the species range of the polar regions.
Artengarnitur des Kaukasus literally means: all the species that the Caucasus is "equipped with"
