German to English translations [PRO]
Science - Agriculture / Experimental organic winter wheat cultivation/climate change adaptation
German term or phrase: Wechselfrost
Greetings honored Colleagues!

The translation addresses an experiment carried out to test alternative methods for cultivating organic winter wheat, adapting to changing climate conditions. Here's my plea to all you agriculture whizzes out there, can you help me out? Does Wechselfröste refer to several different types of frost in succession, or is Wechselfrost a type of frost in itself? I may even grovel for a few REFERENCE SITES!

Im Winter 2012 traten Kahl- sowie Wechselfröste auf, wodurch es zu erheblichen Auswinterungsschäden kam.
