Still about using the above software to consolidate group accounts. This bit is about calculating the various "DBn" (n=1, 2, ...) values. I have found that DB is "Deckungbeitrag" = "contribution margin" =CM and SEK doesn't stand for "Sondereinsatzkommando" but the much less exciting "Sondereinzelkosten"....

BUt I would be grateful for any help about V+V-Kosten (there are so many things "V" can stand for in German), and also about "Vollkosten-Deckungsbeitrag" (full-cost contribution margin?), which I am about to post as a separate question.

Pretty sure about that - during my in-house employment with the German subsidiary of a big UK group of companies, V+V-Kosten had always been used in the sense above, and translated as "support costs", as opposed to e.g. production costs.

  -> Then you ought to tell the finance people of the Group I had worked with (see above). They ALWAYS used "support costs" in the sense outlined above.
neutral  RobinB: I think the more common term in English would be "SGA" (selling, general and administrative).//"selling" is far more common, and I'd avoid "sales" here (like the pest) to prevent confusion with "cost of sales".
