intercompany profit
Explanation:
it's hard to be definite without detailed context, but I don't think this has anything to do with interim profits earned on fund investments or for part of a full financial year, which is what the references in Steffen's other Kudoz question relate to: there would be no need for such profits to be 'eliminiert', whether or not they are taxable.

This sounds like straightforward elimination of intercompany profits, which is relevant for deferred tax purposes, because it creates imbalances between accounting and taxable profits in different parts of the same group eg because the profits eliminated from one company's accounts are nonetheless taxable in that company's hands (unless there is an Organschaft or similar arrangement) or because intercompany trading gives rise to unrealised gains. Both would need to be reflected in the deferred tax account.

intercompany profits

Explanation:
This is the *accounting* term: the translation for Zwischengewinne referred to by Steffen is for the term used in the context of investment funds, and specifically their taxation.

Not surprisingly, then, Zwischengewinneliminierung = elimination of intercompany profits.

See HGB s. 304 (Zwischenergebnisse = intercompany profits and losses).
