Hello there,
I am translating a French psychiatric hospitalization report into English. At the end of the document, there is a section called "DIAGNOSTICS CIM10: Diagnostic longitudinal: F2000
Diagnostic d'episode:
I cannot find a translation for these anywhere. All I have found is the meaning of the code F2000, which basically is the (worldwide recognised) code for the particular illness the patient suffers from.
Can anyone help, please?

: You haven't actually explained it, but longitudinal means longer-term.

: A longitudinal diagnosis is one that is a "life-time" diagnosis. Cf the F20 ICD definitions and you'll see the difference between an episode and a life-time diagnosis.

The CIM-10 is the 10th version of the OMS's international classification of diseases. F2... describes schizophrenic disorders:

The ICD-10 is the same thing in English of the WHO's international classification:

The F20... definition in the CIM-10 (ICD-10) discusses the distinction to be made between an "episode" (an isolated incident, event, "crise", psychosis, etc.) and a "lifetime" (longitudinal) diagnosis, which may start with an episode. The references are to the World Health Organisation's classification, chapter V.
