Est-ce qu’on veut illuminer le plafond, éclairer le mur de façon rasée?
For the first part (à raser), my attempt is "to brush" as in brush up against or skim, if that is indeed correct, but I'm not sure it would work for the second one (de façon rasée) "brushed"?

The French is very repetitive, with raser, mur, plafond, éclairer/illuminer all appearing more than once. That's how people talk, but my translation would be much shorter.
