French term

rinque

French to English Art/Literary Music Acadienne French
I'm having trouble with some of the lyrics to this song translated into French.

I know that the original English line was "please don't take him just because you can" (referring to a love interest)

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=Qy2skuKiEc8

The French lyrics are available if you press the "see more" button under the video description

The sentence is "Prends la point rinque parce que tu peux".

I don't know why they wrote "prends LA" instead of "prends LE point" = don't take him... Can't be a typo because it is repeated multiple times. Is this a dialect variation?

and how does "rinque" mean "[just] because"?

Thank Eliza. If you look in the box at the top, I did label this as Acadienne French at the time I posted the question. There is no option in ProZ for this dialect.
Eliza Hall Oct 5, 2018:
Not normal French To say the least. Notice that the title itself doesn't say version française, it says version acadienne. This is the French dialect spoken on the eastern coast of Canada as well as in Maine and Louisiana (where it's called Cajun -- say that out loud and you can see it comes from Acadian).

Ok. Just got it. "rien que"

I would like to add that this is not for a job, just my own personal inquiry.

French term (edited): rinque parce que

just because ("rien que" in French)

Hello,

Well, was it not in two words? "rin que".
Because in some parts of France we would take the "i" off and say "rien que" that way, that is to say "rin que". It is a very casual way of speaking. We say it in the North of France at least.
