Radiologie - CT thoracique
Bonjour,
Il s'agit d'un CT thoracique.
"Score calcique : Acquisitions hélicoïdales synchronisées sur la fréquence cardiaque sans injection de produit de contraste, centrées sur la silhouette cardiaque"
Can somebody who is well-versed in radiology help me structure this sentence?
"unenhanced helical acquisitions..."? ECG-synchronized?

ECG-synchronized helical imaging/CT scan
ECG-synchronized helical imaging or helical CT scan
Helical imaging was introduced in the late 1980's to increase the image acquisition time, particularly in body imaging.

Methods: Intravenously contrast enhanced MSCT coronary angiography was done during a single breath hold, and ECG synchronised images were reconstructed retrospectively.

Helical CAT scan: Helical computed axial tomography scan (CAT scan or CT scan) is another name for a CT scan, and is also called a spiral CT scan. Until approximately the mid to late 1990's, CT images were obtained one slice at a time, with the patient table moving step by step through the gantry. Scans obtained using this older technique often required 30 or 45 minutes, and the patient held his or her breath for every slice. Helical or spiral CT scans are obtained usually with one breath hold and obtain a volume of X-rayed tissue while the table moves rapidly through the gantry.

Recent technical advances in CT scanning dramatically increased its speed and effectiveness by a process called multi-slice or helical (spiral) scanning.

The following article is about veterinary but I wonder if this also could apply here?
This allows for the cardiac silhouette to be in the center of the image, giving a true representation of the cardiac size and shape.

Acquisitions = images, imaging acquired via the CT scan. I hope it helps.

: but where does it say "ECG" in the source? Thanks for your reply!

It is implied in "synchronisées sur la fréquence cardiaque"

: ECG is (technically) implied, and there is nothing wrong with "ECG synchronized" (although "gating", as proposed by liz, may be more common)
