From an academic article in Pyschiatry
I need help specifically translating the phrase "notes du facteur". It comes from an academic article in a Journal of Psychiatry. It's not from a sentence, but from an equation used to calculate factor scores:
total des notes d'items * 100/total des "notes du facteur" = note factorielle
The "items" they're referring to in the calculation are a list of symptoms (i.e., euphoria, dysphoria, depression, etc.) I keep wanting to translate "notes du facteur" as "factor scores", but that doesn't make sense if "note factorielle" is "factor score". Any help would be appreciated.

Reference:
What is a factor score? A factor score is a numerical value that indicates a person's relative spacing or standing on a latent factor. In order to develop this definition further, however, we must draw a distinction that grew out of the indeterminacy debate between "factor scores" and "factor score estimates".

Correspondingly, one would translate "notes d'items" as "item scores" or "symptom scores".

notes from the factor or postal delivery
The above is a definition which stays directly with the original text in which 'du' means 'from the' while 'le facteur' is 'the factor' or 'post delivery person'.
